Know what your Whatnot buyers pay at the border before you ship
A buyer across the border wins your item in seconds, then gets a bill from the carrier for duty, tax and fees. Whatnot cannot show that amount at checkout. Othermile checks each Whatnot order before it ships and shows you what the buyer will pay, so you can warn them or cover it.

What you get
Built for Whatnot stores
What the buyer pays at the door
Duty, tax, US tariffs and the carrier's fee on each order, estimated from the official rules in force, with their source and date.
Both routes
US sellers mailing to Canada and Canadian sellers shipping to the US with UPS, each priced the way the parcel really travels.
Country of origin counts
Where each item was made decides the duty. Othermile reads the origin you set in Whatnot and flags items without one.
Your OK on the rest
Whatnot cannot hold an order, so an order that breaks your limits waits in Othermile until you approve it with your passkey.
Try it on your own orders first
The free border cost audit reads your Whatnot orders file and shows what your customers paid at the door, by product and by province or state. No account, and your file stays in your browser.

Selling on Whatnot between Canada and the US: who pays the border charges
When a Whatnot buyer is in the other country, the carrier bills them for duty, tax and fees on delivery. Who pays what on each route, with real numbers, and how to tell buyers before they bid.
Country of origin explained: made in, assembled in, printed in
Customs asks where a product was made, not where it shipped from. How origin works, why printing does not change it, the three kinds of origin, and what to do this week.
My customer refused the parcel because of the fees. What now?
A refused parcel usually comes back to you, sometimes with a return charge, or is abandoned. Here is what happens next, what to tell the customer, and how to stop it happening again.
Questions
Othermile and Whatnot
Who pays duty on a Whatnot order to Canada or the US?
Usually the buyer. A US seller's parcel to Canada goes by mail, and Canada Post collects the tax, any duty and its handling fee. A Canadian seller's parcel to the US goes by UPS, which collects the duty and its fees before delivery.
Can Othermile hold a Whatnot order?
No. Whatnot does not let apps hold an order, so an order that needs your OK waits in Othermile. Ship it only after you approve it.
Does Othermile keep my buyers' names or addresses?
No. Othermile reads where each order is going, its items and prices. Names and addresses are not kept.
Is this customs advice?
No. Every figure is an estimate from the official rules in force, with its source and date. The carrier and customs decide the final charge.
